Another question: just how long is an upload supposed to take? Sometimes I start an upload before I go to work and when I come home the page still says "please wait..." and othertimes it takes just over an hour.

The time it will take to upload a file can be calculated from this formula:

T = 1024S/(3600V)

Where S is the file size in megabytes, V is the upload speed in kilobytes per second, and T is the total time in hours. For example if the file size is 1000 MB and the upload speed is 100KB/s, then

(1024x1000)/(100x3600) = 2.84 hours.

I just viewed your upload on "The Manster" ... you don´t need to create an new upload if something with your old one went wrong!
Just look on the down left side of your item page and click on where it says EDIT ITEM this will show you the information form of the item on the top of it there is a link called Item Manager click on it ...
At the Item Manager page you need to click on Checkout -- edit item´s files (non XML) this will make the item folder editable for you again ... now enter the ftp address into you FTP client and > replace the old avi file with the propper one ... after you finished the upload you need to check in the item again ... and that is that :)

i would advise you to use an FTP Client ... it not only shows you an Progress bar and an estimated time, it also gives you some more information if anything went wrong with your upload
